Egypt's state broadcast network has suspended eight of its female presenters, giving them a month to slim down to an "appropriate appearance" before they will be allowed back on air - this despite it being headed up by a woman. Safaa Hegazy, head of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU), and herself a former TV presenter, said that her decision was part of an effort to improve the network's image.
