Some sad Strictly Come Dancing news this morning: professional dancer Gorka Marquez has been attacked following the special Blackpool show on Saturday evening. Shockingly, Gorka was attacked in the street on Saturday as he walked to a nightclub after the live show. The dancer's bottom two front teeth were badly chipped, and he is currently undergoing dental surgery. A BBC spokesperson said: Gorka had "sadly [been] the victim of an unprovoked incident"

“Last Week Tonight With John Oliver” has been renewed for three more seasons at HBO. The deal will keep the series on the air through 2026. “We’re very happy to get to keep making this show with our fantastic staff,” said Oliver.

The TV show The Rookie has been one of the most enjoyable projects Nathan Fillion has ever been cast in. But if there was one drawback the show had, it was making Fillion feel his age. Nathan Fillion sometimes found it hard to physically keep up with ‘The Rookie’ Fillion and his Rookie character John Nolan had a few overlapping similarities. The Rookie is about a middle-aged man at a crossroads in his life, and because of this, pursues a career in law enforcement.

Tyler Perry has formalized a new creative partnership with Netflix to write, direct and produce feature films under a multi-year, first-look deal. The pact spans eight pictures over four years. Perry already has five films under his belt at the streamer: “A Fall From Grace,” “A Madea Homecoming,” the period drama “A Jazzman’s Blues” (his longtime passion project produced from his first screenplay, written 27 years prior), the upcoming World War II-set drama “Six Triple Eight” and the thriller “Mea Culpa.
